I’ve always thought “indie” is a pretty shitty name for the music I listen to, for what I’d think should be obvious reasons. To this day when people ask me what type of music I listen to, I’ve always answered along the lines of “well you know, musiquita linda, most of the things I listen to don’t fall into this or that genre…” sounding like a pretentious dick. Today I thought about the possibility of calling it “commercial music;” not because it’s commercial in the pop music sense, but in the sense that it shows up in tv ads like that Honda commercial with music by Phoenix or that diet pepsi one with music by The Temper Trap.

Ive been saying that those advertisers have damn good taste in music.
